How do Remote User Experience Designers effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams despite working from different locations?

Remote User Experience Designers often collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and researchers through digital tools such as video conferencing, collaborative whiteboards, and project management platforms. Regular communication, clear documentation, and structured feedback sessions are essential to ensure everyone stays aligned on project goals and design decisions. Senior UX Designer (Developer Experience)About the Role

At Chainguard, we're building products that secure the software supply chain-without slowing developers down. We're looking for a Senior UX Designer to help shape intuitive, high-performance experiences across our product suite. This role sits within the Experience team, the frontline for all new product offerings. You'll work closely with engineering and product to design workflows that make complex security and infrastructure concepts feel simple, fast, and usable. You'll play a key role in owning products from 01 and scaling them to thousands of users, with a focus on clarity, performance, and developer experience. In this role, you will wear multiple hats from time to time.ย

What You'll Do

  • Design end-to-end user experiences for Chainguard products, from concept through launch and iteration
  • Translate complex technical systems (CI/CD, containers, supply chain security) into intuitive, developer-friendly workflows
  • Partner closely with engineering and product to ship features quickly and iteratively
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web-based applications
  • Improve usability and performance of data-heavy interfaces (large datasets, dependencies, logs, etc.)
  • Help define and evolve design patterns and systems across the product suite
  • Incorporate AI-driven workflows into product experiences where relevant
  • Gather and incorporate user feedback directly from customers and end users to continuously improve the experience
  • Proactively articulate speculative concepts into feasible solutions
What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years of experience in UX/Product Design
  • Experience designing web applications at scale
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating: complex workflows, data-rich interfaces, user-centered approach and end-to-end product thinking
  • Experience designing for: developer tools, APIs / platforms, and infrastructure or security products
  • Experience designing interactions between AI systems and users
  • Experience with self-service workflows, First Time UX, and Product Led Growthย
  • Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma, etc.)
  • Experience with design systems (e.g., Material UI or similar)
  • Proficiency in collecting feedback from users
  • Familiarity with Design Sprint and Agile development, bonus if they led design sprints that resulted into product launches
