Recharged is on a mission to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption with the first end-to-end e-commerce marketplace designed specifically for used EV buyers and sellers. Recharged is committed to making electric vehicles more accessible and affordable to consumers, while also serving dealers, fleets, and other companies navigating the transition to electric vehicles.

About the Role

Seeking an associate-level buyer with some automotive/inspection familiarity to acquire quality used vehicles for resale. This role will combine sourcing/acquisition with light oversight of pre-sale reconditioning or inspection coordination (not necessarily doing the work, but evaluating and planning).

Key Responsibilities

  • Source used vehicles from auctions, wholesalers, trade-ins, and private sellers.
  • Review vehicle condition reports, history reports, and market data to evaluate value and potential resale profit.
  • Estimate reconditioning/repair costs and work with recon/inspection teams to assess feasibility before purchase.
  • Negotiate purchase price and terms with sellers or auction entities to maximize profit margin.
  • Coordinate acquisition logistics transportation, paperwork (title, VIN verification, ownership transfer), registration, and scheduling for recon/inspection.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, expected reconditioning costs, and projected resale pricing.
  • Keep abreast of used-car market trends, demand, and what makes an attractive inventory vehicle.
  • Communicate with sales, recon, and management to align acquisitions with expected market demand and dealership goals.
  • Occasionally inspect trade-in vehicles brought by customers, perform preliminary walk-around condition checks.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 12 years of automotive or dealership experience (service, sales desk, inspection, or similar), or prior work in wholesale/auction buying.
  • Some familiarity with vehicle condition assessment ability to estimate needed repairs or reconditioning.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with used-car market pricing, data tools / valuation software (or willingness to learn).
  • Valid driver's license and clean record.

Communication: Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and team members.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks, such as walking, standing, and lifting.

Driving Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by the company's motor vehicle insurance carrier. Willingness to submit a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for review is required.
