Site Services Technician

Country: United States State: Kentucky City: Louisville Job Family: Aftermarket and Services Job Type: Permanent position Work Location: Remote Compensation: Fives Intralogistics Corp. is seeking a motivated, safety-minded Site Services Technician (Level 1) to join our growing Services organization. This position supports the installation, maintenance, repair, and retrofitting of automated material handling systems, including conveyors, sorters, and related mechanical assemblies, at customer sites. The Level 1 Technician is an entry-level field role responsible for performing assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and professionally under the direction of senior technicians or project lead. The technician will assist in equipment installation, mechanical adjustments, basic electrical terminations, and system integration, with opportunities for professional growth through training and on-the-job development. Ideal candidates will be based in the Tampa, FL region or open to relocation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
  • Perform basic assembly, rigging, lifting, and alignment of material handling components.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly diagrams, and installation prints.
  • Support senior technicians and subcontractors in site execution and safety compliance.
  • Produce daily activity reports documenting work performed, issues encountered, and materials used.
  • Follow established safety procedures, OSHA standards, and Fives' zero-incident culture.
  • Maintain organized tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Travel to customer sites as assigned for installation, retrofit, or repair projects.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and project leads regarding progress and challenges.
  • Continuously develop new skills, including welding, to support advancement to Level 2.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred. 1–2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, installation, or field service preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical systems and light electrical wiring (field terminations). Skills & Competencies: Ability to read engineering drawings and follow structured instructions. Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime. Strong commitment to workplace safety and professionalism.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, or lift components up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in variable weather conditions. Visual acuity sufficient for reading diagrams and operating hand/power tools.

Work Environment

Field-based work at customer facilities (distribution centers, parcel hubs, etc.). May be exposed to moving machinery, electrical equipment, and loud noise levels. Safety PPE required at all times.

Travel Requirements

Up to 75% travel required domestically, occasionally internationally. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to rent vehicles as needed.
