Position Overview

Union Counseling Center is searching for a dedicated and culturally sensitive Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote role based at our community health clinic in Olathe, Kansas, allowing you to connect with a diverse patient population from the comfort of your own home. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand patients' unique experiences and establish tailored treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are customized to address the individual, familial, and communal concerns of patients.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions focused on promoting resilience, coping strategies, and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to maintain a cohesive and comprehensive care model.
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support during critical mental health emergencies, utilizing strong de-escalation techniques.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment pathways, and available community resources, empowering them with knowledge to navigate their mental health journey.
• Maintain accurate, confidential electronic health record documentation adhering to legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Actively participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing cultural competency training, helping to shape best practices within our agency.
• Stay informed about the latest research, treatment methodologies, and cultural considerations relevant to mental health therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Union Counseling Center, you will work with a highly diverse client base that includes individuals from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants. Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current, valid license as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas.
• In-depth understanding of mental health disorders and advanced evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy incorporating culturally responsive approaches.
• Strong crisis intervention capabilities and the ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to cultivate rapport with diverse clientele.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications is preferred.
• A commitment to uphold ethical standards, maintain confidentiality, and set professional boundaries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team promoting optimized patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• A background in community health settings or multicultural environments is a plus.
• Experience working with specific populations such as youth, families, or individuals navigating immigration challenges is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in conduct of group therapy sessions will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
