As a Senior Sales Underwriter - Inland Marine, you will build and maintain relationships, drive written premium growth, and maintain renewal retention goals while delivering a high degree of customer satisfaction within assigned territory.ย  You'll apply Underwriting, Sales, and Distribution Management skills to manage the overall book of business to achieve profitability goals.ย

  • Sales Acumen:ย 
    • Account service, account management, cross-selling, business development, marketing strategy and positioning, negotiations, prospecting and qualifying, solution development, and competitive analysis.
  • Distribution Management skills:
    • Consultative and relationship management skills needed to build strong relationships with agency partners to drive profitable submissions.
    • Prepare for and conduct effective agency review meetings that serve the goals of BFM and agent partners.
Qualifications

What you'll need to have:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent job-related experience.
  • 5+ years insurance underwriting experience.
  • 5+ years of monoline Inland Marine insurance underwriting experience.
  • Successful history of production underwriting.
  • Excellent relationship management and strategic sales acumen.ย 
  • Able to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong collaboration, customer focus and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Valid drivers license.
