Work Environment

This role will be performed in a remote capacity but will closely integrate with school settings, providing a supportive environment for both the clinician and the students served. The work environment is designed to promote collaborative interaction with faculty and other healthcare providers, enhancing the effectiveness of treatment plans and support strategies. The facility ensures a climate-controlled space conducive to mental health interventions, with flexibility for daily movements throughout the facility as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate the mental health status of patients, using established tools such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
• Develop individualized care plans that are culturally sensitive and address the specific needs of patients, ensuring that interventions are tailored to the unique circumstances of each individual.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support patient needs, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations and patient feedback.
• Document and maintain accurate, timely treatment records in compliance with regulatory requirements, using advanced technology to facilitate efficient information management.
• Collaborate closely with patients and their families to establish comprehensive treatment plans that focus on desired outcomes and goals, fostering a therapeutic alliance built on trust and communication.
• Facilitate referrals and coordinate services to connect patients with additional care providers or support systems, ensuring continuity and holistic care.
• Provide supervision and mentorship for social work students, interns, and volunteers, fostering professional growth and contributing to the development of future practitioners.
• Engage in peer collaboration and clinical supervision under the guidance of senior clinical staff to enhance personal and team performance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role involves working with individuals and families coping with cancer diagnoses. This patient population often presents unique emotional and psychological challenges, requiring a skilled clinician who can provide not only therapy, but also education and strategic support to improve overall mental health outcomes. Your role as an LCSW will be crucial in helping these patients navigate their journeys, offering support that is both empathetic and effective.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Demonstrated ability to understand and apply clinical assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Strong documentation skills, proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse patient populations.

Preferred Experience

• Past experience working with cancer patients or in oncology settings is highly desirable.
• Experience in mentoring or supervising students or interns in a clinical environment.
• Familiarity with collaborative care models and experience working alongside other health care professionals.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
