Position Overview

East Metro Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Licensed Mental Health Therapist for a full-time, remote role. As an integral member of our outpatient community health clinic in Nashville, Tennessee, you will provide essential mental health services to a diverse array of patients. Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, offering flexibility and work-life balance while allowing you to engage with patients through virtual therapy sessions. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility required to meet the needs of our patients. Our virtual platform allows for seamless interactions and thorough documentation, ensuring that all therapists have the tools they need to provide excellent care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand each patient's unique experiences, background, and needs, enabling the development of personalized treatment plans.
  • Implement a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual patients, ensuring that cultural and personal backgrounds are integrated into the treatment process.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, addressing an array of mental health concerns and fostering resilience and emotional well-being among patients.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to ensure a coordinated, comprehensive approach to patient care.
  • Provide emergency crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and available community resources, empowering them to make informed health decisions.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment processes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate actively in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing cultural competency training sessions to enhance service delivery.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research, treatment methodologies, and cultural considerations in mental health therapy to continuously improve the quality of care offered.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will engage with a varied patient population that reflects the rich diversity of Nashville, Tennessee. This includes individuals from multicultural backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those from immigrant families. Your expertise in culturally responsive care will be vital in building trusting therapeutic relationships and providing support tailored to the unique challenges faced by these clients.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
  • A deep understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches, with a strong focus on cultural competence.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering individual and group therapy using inclusive and culturally sensitive strategies.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to maintain calmness in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling rapport building with a diverse array of individuals.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and related computer applications.
  • A commitment to professional ethics, maintaining confidentiality, and respecting established professional boundaries.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in teletherapy or non-traditional therapeutic environments.
  • Proven track record in collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team.
  • Previous involvement in community outreach programs or initiatives aimed at enhancing mental health resource access for underserved populations.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
