We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our innovative and compassionate team at Bridge Over Troubled Waters Counseling Center, located in Oakland, California. This full-time remote position will allow you to impact the lives of individuals facing various mental health challenges, particularly mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related issues. Offering a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, this opportunity promises professional fulfillment and the chance to make a meaningful difference.

About the Organization

Bridge Over Troubled Waters Counseling Center is a renowned outpatient practice committed to providing comprehensive mental health services. Our mission is to foster healing and resilience in our diverse clientele through personalized therapy and support. We pride ourselves on our team of experienced mental health professionals who work collaboratively to create a nurturing environment for our clients.

Work Environment

This role is entirely remote, enabling you to work from the comfort of your own home while still engaging deeply with our community through telehealth services. You will maintain a flexible schedule during standard business hours, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the severity and duration of symptoms related to mood disorders, utilizing standardized tools and questionnaires.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to formulate and implement personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and therapeutic goals.
  • Employ evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to foster client engagement and promote positive outcomes.
  • Provide educational resources and support to clients and their families, helping them understand mood disorders and effective coping strategies.
  • Monitor and document clientsโ€™ progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal care and effectiveness of interventions.
  • Engage in collaborative discussions with psychiatrists and medical professionals to create a well-rounded support network for each client.
  • Remain informed about current research and trends in the treatment of mood disorders, integrating new findings into your practice to improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate records of client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in line with ethical and legal guidelines.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations to share insights and enhance the collective expertise of our clinical team.
  • Advocate for the de-stigmatization of mental health issues, promoting a culture of acceptance and encouragement among clients and their families.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role, you will primarily support individuals grappling with mood disordersโ€”offering a therapeutic presence for clients navigating the emotional complexities of depression, anxiety, and mood instability. Your expertise will empower clients with tools to manage their conditions, fostering hope and resilience.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
  • Proficiency in utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches, particularly CBT and DBT, in clinical practice.
  • A strong foundation in psychopharmacology, facilitating effective collaboration with psychiatrists to optimize client care.
  • A proven history of delivering successful therapeutic outcomes to clients facing mood disorders.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in a remote telehealth setting or using virtual platforms for counseling.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a diverse client caseload, adapting therapeutic techniques to meet varied individual needs.
  • Active participation in ongoing professional development, with a commitment to continuous learning about emerging practices in mental health.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our compensation package also includes a sign-on bonus and access to professional development resources, ensuring that you grow alongside our organization.

Career Growth Opportunities

At Bridge Over Troubled Waters Counseling Center, we believe in nurturing the professional growth of our team members. You will have access to mentorship programs, continuing education credits, and opportunities to lead workshops or facilitate community outreach initiatives, all designed to enhance your skills and advance your career.

Why Join Our Team

You will collaborate with dedicated professionals who share your passion for mental health, while also having the flexibility and tools to provide effective care in a remote environment.
