Job description

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Unit: Sterile Processing / Surgical Services
Duration of Assignment: 13 Weeks
Location: Boston, MA
Shift: Days 7:00 AM–3:30 PM / Evenings 3:00 PM–11:30 PM or 11:00 AM–7:30 PM:, Sunday–Thursday; weekend rotation once every 8 weeks; no call
Guarantee Hours: 40 hours/week
Salary Range: $32-$37/ Hour

Job Duties:

  • Process and prepare surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Handle orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac instrumentation.
  • Support multiple areas within the hospital as needed.
  • Maintain proper sterilization and infection-control standards.
  • Follow department policies and safety procedures.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment.
  • Will not be assigned to steam sterilization or dispatch.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of acute care Sterile Processing experience.
  • Recent travel experience required.
  • Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac instruments.
  • Current CRCST (IAHCSMM/HSPA) or CSPDT (ASHCSP) certification.
  • Certification must be maintained with required CEUs.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Fluent English required.
  • Must be willing to float to multiple hospital areas.
  • No RTO during the first 13-week contract; no blocked scheduling.
