Job description

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist

The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist performs diagnostic sleep testing. Responsibilities include PAP therapy titration, checking in patients, and setting up rooms. Patient hookup, charting, and cleaning equipment are essential duties. The unit utilizes computerized charting, Natus XLTech Sleep Works, and ResMed S9 Devices. Clinicians must work in pairs, with a 2:1 tech ratio for most patients. For patients under 3 years old, a 1:1 tech ratio is required. Limited scoring occurs during data collection. There is no requirement to float to other units or departments. Training includes modified EMR training and working alongside another sleep technologist.
