Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at One Step Forward, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to determine patients' traumatic experiences and identify suitable treatment strategies.
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and overall mental wellness.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions—including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)—to facilitate healing and promote personal growth.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients process trauma, cultivate coping mechanisms, and foster emotional healing.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure an integrated approach to client care.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed, offering support during trauma-related emergencies.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available resources, enhancing their understanding of mental health.
