Search & ComparisonOften compared for coaching roles focusing on traumaCompared for mental health support roles

Remote Trauma Informed Coaches focus on guiding clients through trauma recovery using specialized trauma-informed approaches, often with coaching credentials. Remote Mental Health Coaches provide support for mental health issues, typically with mental health certifications. While both roles involve online client interaction and wellness support, trauma-informed coaching emphasizes trauma-specific techniques, whereas mental health coaching covers broader mental health topics.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Trauma Informed Coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Trauma Informed Coach, you need a background in psychology, counseling, or social work, along with specialized training or certification in trauma-informed practices. Familiarity with virtual coaching platforms, secure communication tools, and client management systems is typically expected. Exceptional listening, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build trust remotely are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies are crucial for providing effective support, maintaining client safety, and facilitating healing in a remote environment.

How does a Remote Trauma Informed Coach typically collaborate with mental health professionals and clients in a virtual environment?

As a Remote Trauma Informed Coach, you often work closely with mental health professionals such as therapists or counselors to ensure clients receive comprehensive support. Collaboration usually involves regular communication, sharing observations (with client consent), and aligning on goals without crossing into clinical territory. Your daily responsibilities may include holding confidential video or phone sessions, creating individualized action plans, and providing resources or coping strategies tailored to each client. Building trust and maintaining clear boundaries are essential in this virtual setting, as is staying up-to-date with best practices in trauma-informed care.

What is a Remote Trauma Informed Coach?

A Remote Trauma Informed Coach is a professional who provides coaching and support to clients who have experienced trauma, using a trauma-informed approach. They work with clients virtually, typically through video calls, phone calls, or online platforms, to help them process experiences, build resilience, and achieve personal or professional goals. Trauma-informed coaches are trained to recognize the impact of trauma and create a safe, supportive environment that avoids re-traumatization. They focus on empowering clients, promoting self-awareness, and fostering healing, often complementing other therapeutic or clinical interventions. Unlike therapists, trauma-informed coaches do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders but provide guidance, resources, and encouragement for personal growth.

Job description

About OnPay

OnPay is a fast-growing software company headquartered in Atlanta, offering a modern cloud-based payroll, HR, and benefits solution for small to midsize businesses. Weโ€™re currently seeking talented and curious individuals to join our team. We want to hear from you if you are interested in joining an exciting and fast-growing company!

Learn more at OnPay.com

Weโ€™re on a mission to combine excellent customer service with payroll expertise and superb technology โ€” and we are scaling fast as weโ€™ve just raised $100 million in growth funding led by Carrick Capital Partners.

The Role

The Director, Revenue Systems owns the architecture, performance, and evolution of OnPayโ€™s go-to-market (GTM) technology stack, building scalable systems that power how revenue teams operate. This role will serve as a key leader within the Revenue Operations function, with the opportunity to build and scale the revenue systems team over time.

You will own the systems roadmap and strategy, driving CRM architecture, integrations, data integrity, and automation while applying AI to improve efficiency, execution, and customer experience across the business.

What Sets This Opportunity Apart

  • Build in a true high-growth environment where systems, processes, and structure are still being defined, giving you the opportunity to create meaningful impact quickly.

  • Own and shape the revenue systems roadmap by defining priorities, evaluating solutions, and leading implementation of systems that support how the business scales.

  • Operate as a strategic partner to leadership, influencing how teams execute and how revenue scales across the business.

  • Be an early driver of AI across the business, introducing and applying AI in practical ways to improve speed-to-lead, customer experience, and conversion across the funnel

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Own the revenue systems roadmap and end-to-end technology stack, including HubSpot, sales engagement tools, enrichment platforms, dialers, revenue intelligence, and partner systems.

  • Evaluate, select, and manage revenue systems vendors, ensuring alignment to business priorities and measurable impact.

  • Design and build scalable system environments and workflows across GTM and operating teams.

  • Lead AI implementation and workflow automation to improve speed-to-lead, conversion, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure data integrity and enable accurate reporting, forecasting, and performance visibility.

  • Support end users and ensure teams have the tools, workflows, and systems needed to execute effectively.

  • Partner with Enablement to drive training and adoption, identifying opportunities to improve performance through coaching informed by system insights.

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to support system-connected workflows and customer experiences.

What You Bring

  • 6โ€“10+ years in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or GTM Systems roles.

  • Deep experience owning and scaling HubSpot and broader revenue technology stack, with exposure to team leadership and cross-functional project ownership.

  • Proven track record implementing and integrating GTM tools and systems in a high-growth environment ($20Mโ€“$100M+).

  • Experience leading or building revenue systems or operations functions, with demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing teams.

  • Experience supporting multiple GTM motions (sales-led, product-led, partnerships).

  • Experience with system connectivity (APIs, middleware), workflow automation, AI application, and data warehouse / BI environments.

Why OnPay?

  • Momentum that matters: Weโ€™re backed by over $100MM in new funding and scaling rapidly.

  • Market-leading product: OnPay consistently ranks among the highest-rated payroll solutions, earning top marks for usability, customer satisfaction, and support.

  • Lead engine that delivers: Our marketing and partner network drives thousands of qualified leads monthly โ€” youโ€™ll always have warm opportunities to close.

  • Remote flexibility: Work from anywhere in the U.S., or join our collaborative HQ team in Atlantaโ€™s Ponce City Market if you reside in the Atlanta metro area.

  • Competitive compensation: Base salary + bonus + stock options = real upside for high performers.

  • Comprehensive benefits: 4 weeks PTO + paid holidays, Medical/Dental/Vision, Short- & Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Fertility Benefits, Parental Leave, and a 401(k) with company match.

  • Growth culture: Join a team with deep payroll expertise, modern SaaS momentum, and a genuine commitment to helping employees grow their careers.

  • Client-first ethos: OnPay is built on a culture of transparency and service โ€” from our transparent pricing to our commitment to making small business simpler.
