Energy Balance Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team. This full-time position focuses on providing specialized care to individuals overcoming trauma. At Energy Balance Counseling Services, based in Rockville, Maryland, we advocate for mental health awareness and the holistic well-being of our clients. We recognize that trauma affects individuals in unique ways and specialize in treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. This remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your home while still being part of a collaborative outpatient office team. You will interact regularly with other mental health professionals, participate in virtual team meetings, and engage in case consultations. We prioritize work-life balance and offer a 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility to accommodate client needs.

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient's unique history and needs, enabling the development of tailored treatment plans.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies that focus on trauma recovery, resilience building, and promoting overall mental well-being.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.
• Lead individual and group therapy sessions that guide clients in processing traumatic experiences, enhancing coping mechanisms, and fostering emotional growth.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure an integrated approach to each client's care.
• Provide timely crisis intervention and support in managing trauma-related emergencies to ensure client safety and continuity of care.
• Educate clients and their families about the impact of trauma, available coping strategies, and external resources that may assist in their recovery journey.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with the latest research and therapeutic techniques in trauma care.
• Participate in regular team meetings and case discussions to enhance collaborative practices and share insights on trauma-informed care methodologies.

Your primary focus will be on individuals navigating the aftermath of traumatic experiences, ranging from childhood adversity to recent crisis incidents. We work with both adult and adolescent clients, emphasizing a tailored approach to therapy that recognizes and respects each client’s background and needs. Your expertise will be pivotal in guiding them toward paths of healing and self-discovery.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure as LCPC, LCSW-C, LMFT, or LCMFT in the state of Maryland.
• A deep understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Exceptional communication skills combined with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach toward client interactions.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and a comfort level with technology to ensure efficient documentation and communication.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience working with trauma-affected populations is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies that lead to positive patient outcomes.
• A strong background in collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging with various treatment professionals.
