This role will specifically focus on providing vital social services to students in a school-based setting within the Miramar Beach, Florida area. You will play an essential role in fostering the well-being of students and their families, ensuring they receive the support and resources necessary for success.

About the Organization

At Transitional Living Solutions, we are committed to transforming lives through advocacy, support, and community connection. Our organization specializes in a person-centered approach to social work, addressing complex challenges such as homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, and poverty. We collaborate with local agencies and community partners to implement holistic solutions that empower individuals and families. Our mission is rooted in social justice, providing comprehensive resources to help vulnerable populations navigate life’s challenges.

Work Environment

This full-time position is primarily remote, allowing flexibility in your work schedule while maintaining a strong connection with students and their families. The school-based focus means you will engage with educators, administration, and students virtually, adapting to the unique needs of young clients and their support systems. While the standard working hours align with typical school schedules, you may occasionally need to work evenings or weekends to address urgent client needs or participate in community outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of students to identify their social, emotional, and environmental needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans with specific goals, interventions, and tracking measures to monitor student progress.
  • Provide counseling sessions for students and their families, addressing academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention services, conducting risk assessments, and developing safety plans to ensure student well-being.
  • Collaborate closely with educators and school administration to create supportive environments tailored to student needs.
  • Connect clients with essential community resources, including food security, mental health services, and housing assistance.
  • Engage in outreach activities that enhance community awareness of services offered by Transitional Living Solutions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss and strategize on client progress and integration of support services.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary client population for this role encompasses students aged K-12, along with their families. You will work directly with individuals who are facing various social challenges, including academic stress, family dynamics, behavioral health issues, and economic hardships. Your interventions will focus on building resilience and providing resources that facilitate long-term stability and success.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
  • Active licensure in the state of Florida as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively engage with diverse populations.
  • Cultural competence to work with students from varying backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in a school setting or with children and adolescents in a social service context is preferred.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and support services.
  • Experience in developing and conducting workshops or group therapies for youth.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 60,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive pay, you will also be eligible for a sign-on bonus. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health insurance that covers medical, dental, and vision care.
  • Retirement savings plans with employer matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off policies, including vacation, personal days, and holidays.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development to advance your skills.
  • Insurance coverage and other wellness benefits.
Career Growth Opportunities

Transitional Living Solutions fosters an environment of continuous learning, where you will have access to training programs that enhance your skills in areas such as crisis intervention, family counseling, and community advocacy. As you gain experience, opportunities for advancement within the organization may also be available, allowing you to take on leadership roles or specialize further in areas of interest.
