Job description

Under the direction of the Sr. Director, Sales, the Field Sales Engineer will work to grow existing customers, identify and create new customers in their territory. They will work cooperatively with inside sales and other members of the team, as well as with our supplier's sales channels and management to meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction. Selling at all levels, they will have to understand the customer's applications and strategies and collaborate with the team to propose the best solutions for their customers' requirements.
RFMW is an electronic component distributor of RF and microwave products. This role is remote within the Northern CA area.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Consistently visit customers in territory to determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
Generate new and repeat sales by providing new product information in a timely manner
Increase sales by cross-selling, up-selling, and add-on sales to existing programs and new programs
Work closely with supplier's sales channels, and when needed, visit customers with supplier's sales channels to recommend new product solutions for customers' design requirements.
Use RFMW Yukon Systems to track, manage, maintain and expand New and Repeat sales activity with Key Customers
Use Suppliers Design Registration Programs to effectively manage new design activity and maximize gross profit.
Develop and execute account plans at target accounts and grow revenue and design wins within these accounts.
Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers' profitability profiles
Work closely with Inside Sales Representative to ensure customer transactions such as orders, backlog, quotes, samples or returns are effectively managed.
When required, to prepare reports, presentations, feedback, or forecast for Suppliers QBR's or management meetings.
Work closely with Marketing and Product Management to obtain the most current information from suppliers relating to new products, applications, and sales tools to promote with customers in the territory
Able to understand customers' product roadmap sufficiently enough to recommend product solutions from partner suppliers.
Ability to work with suppliers to help guide product developments and road maps in support of future customer trends.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree required in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years related experience in Semiconductor Sales/Marketing environment, preferable in the RF/MW Industry. Distribution and Rep or OEM experience preferred.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Comfortable calling on Engineering and Purchasing.
  • Strong Communication skills: Producing and giving presentations, interacting, developing, and growing relationships.
  • Successful track record of developing new customers and increasing sales and profitability.
  • Willing to Travel within the assigned Territory & Occasionally for training and trade shows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities and varying deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-driven and independent is a must
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT), and web-based CRM tool
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license, safe driving record and be insurable by the Companies' liability carrier.

Total Annual Compensation: $145,000 - $185,000/year. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
