Job description

TeamCivX Field Associate

Position Overview

The Field Associate is responsible for executing comprehensive voter contact and field programs for client campaigns. Your main job is to be one of our internal experts on field technology and to take field-related requests off the plates of our Client Services Managers (CSMs). If a client needs a list pulled, a texting campaign set up, or a turf cut, you are the one responsible for completion. You will manage these requests through Airtable, fix issues before they become emergencies, and set up Zoom trainings to teach clients how to use the tools themselves.

Key Responsibilities

Field Data Systems & Technical Operations

  • Oversee PDI child account setup, including account creation, user management, and campaign/billing configuration
  • Manage data imports, exports, and file pulls for mail, texting, digital, robocalls, yard signs, and walk lists
  • Create and manage flags, surveys, and scripts customized to client needs
  • Maintain naming conventions for folder structures, files, and universe organization
  • Troubleshoot data issues and provide timely client support for technical requests (e.g. willingness to solve technical issues directly with the person experiencing them over the phone)

Canvassing & Field Operations

  • Design, build, and manage canvassing programs, including walk packets, mobile canvassing projects, and volunteer assignment zones under the qualitative direction of a CSM
  • Conduct client/volunteer trainings, ensuring a clear understanding of scripts, technology use, and best practices over Zoom
  • Monitor canvassing progress and update metrics for client reporting, ensuring CSMs have them before weekly CSM/Committee meetings
  • Manage ballot return tracking and related GOTV operations in the last few weeks of the campaign

Phone Banks, Texting Programs, & Regulatory Approvals

  • Get clients approved to engage in mass communications on both Campaign Verify and Scale to Win guided by a basic understanding of 10DLC requirements
  • Set up and manage online phone banks using PDI
  • Oversee texting programs through Scale to Win, including data imports and message setup, as well as execution once approved by a CSM
  • Conduct volunteer trainings on phone and text outreach platforms over Zoom

Field Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate and present reports on field activity, voter contact, and volunteer performance according to committee/CSM needs
  • Weekly: Update trackers for CSMs before they present data to clients
  • Ensure data integrity for exports across systems and accurate syncing between platforms.

And additional responsibilities as needed or requested by Partners/CSMs.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 campaign cycle of experience in political field operations, campaign data management, or organizing
  • Experience working on a remote team
  • Intermediate proficiency with voter contact tools such as PDI and Scale to Win
  • Strong understanding of campaign data systems, targeting, and universe building
  • Working understanding of California politics
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication, training, and leadership skills
  • A Service-Oriented "Fix-It" Mindset: You enjoy solving problems. You own both problems and solutions. If a list isn't loading or a text campaign gets stuck, your first instinct is to dig in and figure out why.
