About this Opportunity
As a Sales Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical partner to our sales team and prospective customers, helping translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value. You'll play a critical role in driving deal success by leading technical discovery, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and guiding solution design throughout the sales cycle.
This role sits at the intersection of sales, product, and engineering-requiring strong technical depth, excellent communication skills, and a customer-first mindset.
What you'll do:
Own the Technical Side of the Sales Process
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to support opportunities from early discovery through close
  • Lead technical discovery conversations to understand customer goals, constraints, and success criteria
  • Conduct live product demonstrations and tailored technical presentations to showcase Spokeo's offerings
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for prospects during the evaluation process

Deliver High-Impact Product Experiences
  • Design and deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to customer use cases and business outcomes
  • Clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives
  • Address security, architecture, and integration questions with confidence and clarity

Design & Validate Solutions
  • Recommend and design solutions that meet customer requirements while aligning with product capabilities
  • Support or lead proofs-of-concept (POC) to validate technical fit and demonstrate value
  • Contribute to technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires

Be a Force Multiplier for Sales
  • Provide technical guidance that accelerates deal velocity and improves win rates
  • Enable sales teams with product knowledge, use cases, and competitive positioning
  • Share field feedback with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap and improvements

What Success Looks Like
  • You're viewed as a trusted advisor by customers and sales partners
  • You help unblock complex technical evaluations and shorten sales cycles
  • You consistently elevate the quality of demos, solution design, and technical credibility
  • You balance customer needs with scalable, repeatable solution

What you've done:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 5 years in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or similar customer-facing technical role
  • Experience supporting SaaS, enterprise software, or complex technical products
  • Proven ability to work on deals involving both technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of modern software platforms (cloud, APIs, integrations, security, or data-depending on product)
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into customer value
  • Comfortable presenting, whiteboarding, and leading discussions with diverse audiences
  • Solid grasp of the sales process and how technical decisions influence buying outcomes

Nice to have:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or enterprise systems
  • Experience with API products
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot
