Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology.

Come be a part of what's next. In April 2022, we introduced a new, more affordable, ad-supported tier for our customers, marking a significant milestone for Netflix. Our focus is now on expanding choices for consumers and providing advertisers with a premium TV brand experience that surpasses traditional linear formats.

The challenge ahead involves scaling our ad tech to maximize its impact on our business. Our Team The Ads Platform Engineering teams build advertising systems and integrations that power the delivery of ads using our world-class content delivery ecosystem. We use a number of Netflix investments and innovations to power our ads - unique mix of client and server-side ad insertions, state of the art content delivery system, ad encoding recipes, content understanding and metadata.

We deliver ads in a manner that's thoughtful of our member's viewing experience and drive great outcomes for advertisers. We also ensure that advertiser brand safety is ensured during serving, members only see the most appropriate ads for them. Ads policies are the foundational guidelines that govern what ads can be shown, where they can run, and under what conditions on the Netflix platform.

Policies ensure that every ad campaign complies with both local regulations and Netflix standards, by defining rules related to restricted categories, maturity levels, and brand restrictions. The Ads Policies team is responsible for building the platform-level components required for managing Netflix policies and ensuring their enforcement across the entire ads ecosystem, including creative review, campaign setup, targeting, serving and reporting. This role is part of the company's strategic initiative to build a world-class advertising ecosystem following the launch of their ad-supported tier.

We are looking for highly motivated engineers working in the advertising space who are excited to join us on this journey. Skills & experience we're seeking: Professional experience with building platform-level rules management systems, especially in the context of online advertising General understanding of the advertising marketplace and landscape, with a focus on management of publisher policies and ad creative moderation Experience with building large-scale infrastructure for real-time, low-latency, online advertising environments Proven track record of building systems that power sophisticated user experimentation, A/B testing and lift studies. Strong analytical and strategic thinking with demonstrated product sense and leadership in the working environment Track record of collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders from product, engineering, operations, design, consumer research, etc., to develop and deploy models at scale Nice to haves: Familiarity with legal compliance and changing landscape of ads regulations around the world Familiarity with CTV ecosystem, Dynamic Ads Insertion for Live streaming events Working knowledge of building large-scale rules management system in the context of an ad platform Experience with multi-tenancy in campaign management platforms Programmatic advertisement experience Contributed to an ads industry technology standard (e.g

VAST, OpenRTB) or worked on an industry consortium effort, working group etc. Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.

To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $388,000.00 - $619,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location
