Your role will involve active engagement in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure cohesive care and communication, creating a unified approach to student mental health services.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, evaluating their personal histories, presenting concerns, and identifying critical risk factors that may affect their educational experience.
• Collaborate in developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s unique needs, ensuring the inclusion of goals focused on emotional regulation, personal growth, and successful school integration.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care strategies, to address a variety of mental health issues.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, empowering students to develop effective coping mechanisms, improve resilience, and enhance interpersonal skills.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during critical mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and coordinating referrals to appropriate care facilities as necessary.
• Educate students and their families through psychoeducation sessions, helping them understand mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and available community resources.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with ethical standards and legal requirements.
• Engage in continuous professional development through participation in team meetings, training sessions, and case conferences to stay informed of best practices in mental health and education.
• Keep current with state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance in all mental health practices within the school context.

The primary clientele includes a diverse student body ranging from elementary to high school age. You will be responsible for addressing a wide array of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma-related concerns. By fostering a culture of empathy and understanding, you will play a crucial role in supporting students from various backgrounds and circumstances.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a current and valid LCSW licensure within the state of Nevada.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensable clinical experience, ideally within educational or mental health settings.
• Proficient understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and trauma-informed approaches for effective student care.
• Proven skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnosing disorders, and formulating actionable treatment plans.
• Experience with delivering therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings.
• Strong crisis intervention capabilities and the ability to navigate high-stress scenarios with professionalism and composure.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish a trusting environment for students and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems as well as general proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration for comprehensive student support.

• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or community-based setting.
• Familiarity with implementing school-based mental health initiatives.
• Advanced training in specific therapeutic modalities, such as trauma-informed care or mindfulness-based interventions.
