Job Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Professional Coder II, you will code complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties at ProMedica.

You will interpret operative notes and procedural documentation as you code provider office and hospital charges for all departments supported by professional billing. With your strong understanding of surgical guidelines, you will code complex surgical services, procedures and evaluation and management services.

In this role, you will ensure compliance in accordance with official coding guidelines and payor standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass internal coding test.
  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding.
  • 3 years of physician/professional complex surgical and E&M coding experience in a health care system or medical office setting.
  • Complex surgical coding experience includes, but not limited to, OB/Gyn, Gastrointestinal, Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, Cardiothoracic, Urology, ENT, Plastic Surgery and General Surgery.
  • CPC, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA certification required.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of the professional billing revenue cycle process.
  • Knowledge and experience with Epic and other coding applications.
  • 4+ years of physician/professional complex surgical and E&M coding experience in a health care system or medical office setting.

Salary Range - $31,200 - $84,640
