Development Consultant / Fundraising Strategist

RYAN Healing CenterFull-Time Contract Position (1099) | Southwest Florida (Hybrid or Remote Considered) | Help Build Hope. Help Change Lives.

RYAN Healing Center is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping women and women with children overcome substance use disorder, rebuild their lives, and restore their families through long-term recovery programming, supportive housing, life-skills development, and spiritual growth.

As we enter an exciting season of growth, we are seeking an experienced, high-performing Development Consultant to lead and expand our fundraising efforts.

This is a unique opportunity for a fundraising professional who wants to combine proven development expertise with meaningful mission-driven work. The right candidate will play a key role in helping secure the resources necessary to expand our impact and serve more women and children in need.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic relationship-builder and revenue-generating professional who has demonstrated success securing philanthropic support through major gifts, foundations, corporate partnerships, and other funding sources. This is not an administrative fundraising position.

The ideal candidate has a history of producing measurable fundraising results and is excited about helping a growing organization increase its reach and long-term sustainability.

Scope of ServicesMajor Gifts & Donor Development

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new individual donors.
  • Build and manage new strategic donor pipeline.
  • Develop personalized donor engagement and stewardship plans.
  • Coordinate donor meetings, presentations, and follow-up communications.
  • Help secure transformational gifts that advance the mission of RYAN Healing Center.

Foundation & Grant Development

  • Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities.
  • Build relationships with private foundations and grantmakers.
  • Coordinate grant proposals, applications, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop a sustainable grant funding strategy.

Corporate & Community Partnerships

  • Cultivate corporate sponsorships and community partnerships.
  • Develop relationships with business leaders and philanthropic organizations.
  • Expand awareness and support for RYAN Healing Center throughout the community.

Fundraising Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan.
  • Manage fundaising events and campaigns
  • Establish fundraising goals, benchmarks, and performance metrics.
  • Track donor engagement and fundraising outcomes.
  • Advise leadership on development best practices and growth opportunities.
  • Help position RYAN Healing Center for long-term financial sustainability.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months, the Development Consultant will:

  • Build and manage new active donor pipeline.
  • Increase philanthropic revenue and funding capacity.
  • Expand foundation and corporate funding opportunities.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with major donors and community leaders.
  • Establish systems and strategies that support sustainable fundraising growth.
  • Help position RYAN Healing Center for significant long-term expansion and impact.

QualificationsRequired

  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, development, philanthropy, or related fields.
  • Experience cultivating and securing major gifts, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, or other significant philanthropic investments.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in faith-based nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience in addiction recovery, behavioral health, family services, housing, or human services.
  • Grant writing and grants management experience.
  • Experience working with donor management systems and fundraising databases.
  • Existing relationships within philanthropic, foundation, or corporate giving communities.

Compensation

Competitive consulting compensation based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated fundraising success.

This is a full-time independent contractor (1099) position. Performance-based incentives may be considered for exceptional fundraising outcomes.
