Job description

The Software Project Manager will drive the successful execution and delivery of software projects within the Medical Imaging product line. This role is primarily responsible for managing all stages of project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with our organization's strategic goals and the product vision set by the product manager. This role will use Agile methodologies and technical acumen to lead cross-functional project teams, optimize processes, and deliver high-quality software solutions. Adapting to emerging technologies and processes, making  data-driven decisions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement are a key part of this role.
Project Planning and Execution
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for concurrent software development projects, ensuring accurate communication of effort estimates, efficient resource allocation and timely delivery.
  • Work closely with the product manager to understand and implement project scope, objectives, and deliverables, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and successful outcomes.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with product strategy and business goals as defined by the product manager, ensuring that software development initiatives contribute to the organization's broader objectives.
  • Facilitate project meetings and/or Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, in collaboration with the product team members, ensuring alignment between project execution and product vision.
  • Implement software project management techniques, best practices, and leverage data analytics to improve efficiency, inform decision-making, and continuously enhance processes.
  • Stay current with project management methodologies and tools, applying this knowledge to improve project delivery and team efficiency.
  • Utilize and optimize project management tools and software, such as GitHub, Smartsheets, or similar platforms, to enhance project tracking and team collaboration
Risk and Resource Management
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, developing and executing effective strategies to address challenges throughout the project lifecycle, reducing potential delays or budget overruns.
  • Manage and coordinate objectives during release cycles, effectively communicating progress, managing roadblocks, and participating in root cause analyses as required.
  • Coordinate user testing, ensuring issues are resolved in a pragmatic and appropriate manner.
  • Support the product manager in maintaining stakeholder relationships, focusing on project-specific communications and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project status, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with project management and documentation standards, processes, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive Continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements that improve project delivery efficiency or team performance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project team members, supporting their project related objectives and fostering a positive, productive working environment.
 
Vendor Management
  • Assist with and provide input into vendor negotiations that may include changes in scope or timelines with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead reviews or requirements, designs, and timelines with relevant stakeholders to obtain agreement and sign off of proposals.
  • Ensure vendors are meeting agreed upon timelines, contractual obligations and deliverables.
  • Manage day-to-day stakeholder and vendor relationships, resolve any concerns and escalate as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree + 4-6 years of related experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Agile methodologies, familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of clinical research industry, artificial intelligence, machine learning, medical device product development and software as medical device (SaMD)
  • PMP or Agile certification is highly desirable.
  • A strategic thinker who can balance technical requirements with business objectives
  • Ability to effectively manage stakeholders, and inspire project teams to achieve exceptional results
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared success.
