Job Summary

The Project Management Office provides support to approved initiatives, ensures effective standard project delivery, adherence for framework at the initiative level and application of structured project management discipline.The AVP, Project Manager will be responsible for managing a medium to large size complex strategic projects independently for the overall company.This role will facilitate achievement of Arch's strategic goals through end-to-end management of projects, and portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic projects end-to-end (business and technology oriented), working with business subject matter experts and delivery team members.
  • Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to junior team members while managing large scale multi-project efforts (ie: smaller projects rolling up to a program level)
  • Act as champion for the strategic portfolio management framework and processes
  • Provide teams, including senior leaders, with regular communications regarding project status, outstanding risks, issues, any necessary change request and next steps
  • Identify project risks in advance of them pushing projects off-track, and coming up with risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure that project outcomes are in line with Arch's strategic goals and objectives
  • Effective business stakeholder management and business partnership
  • Lead the processes of tracking project metrics including costs, benefits, resource planning (demand capacity), OKRs, etc.

Skills and Requirements

  • Total command of project management process, risk/change management, escalation procedures/methodologies, and tools/technologies in a project and portfolio context
  • Experience in leading and facilitating large scale projects in a matrix environment; must be able to work independently to assess critical path, identify and manage dependencies and draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Deep knowledge and experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including cross initiative test planning.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Portfolio Dependency Management, including dependency identification, cross initiative communication, facilitating prioritization discussions, risk mitigation, etc.
  • Experience operating in an Agile/Agile SAFe framework strongly desired
  • Effective communication skills - ability to articulate the situation/issue in a simple and clear way (written, verbal, presentation)
  • Strong business acumen- knowledge of how business is run and experience in applying it in business situations
  • Problem-solver with the ability to identify and deliver solutions on issues.

Education & Experience

  • 7-10+ years of progressive project management experience
  • Experience in Property/Casualty Insurance strongly desired
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Project Management certification strongly desired

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$150,000 - $165,000/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
