Job description

Job Title: Technical Project Manager
Salary: 65k/year
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Project Manager to support the successful delivery of technology projects by coordinating communication, documentation, workflows, and project execution activities. This role serves as a key partner to the VP of Technology, helping translate client and business requirements into actionable development tasks while ensuring projects remain organized, documented, and on track.
The ideal candidate possesses a foundational understanding of technology concepts and software development processes but excels in project coordination, requirements gathering, documentation, process design, and stakeholder communication. This individual will work directly alongside the VP of Technology on client-facing initiatives, supporting meetings, documenting requirements, managing project timelines, tracking deliverables, and serving as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team.
Project Management & Coordination
  • Support the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple technology projects simultaneously
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, task lists, and project documentation.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate internal project meetings and maintain action item tracking.
  • Ensure project stakeholders have visibility into project status and upcoming deliverables.

Client & Stakeholder Support
  • Partner closely with the VP of Technology on client-facing projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in client meetings to document requirements, decisions, action items, and follow-up tasks.
  • Assist in gathering business requirements and clarifying project objectives.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between clients, business stakeholders, and internal development teams.
  • Help manage stakeholder expectations through proactive communication and documentation.

Requirements Gathering & Documentation
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, process maps, workflow diagrams, SOPs, meeting notes, and action item registers.
  • Translate business discussions into clear and actionable requirements for technical teams.
  • Maintain organized project repositories and ensure documentation remains current.

Development Team Coordination
  • Work closely with developers, designers, QA resources, and business stakeholders to facilitate project execution.
  • Assist with backlog management, sprint planning, and task prioritization activities.
  • Ensure development teams have the information and documentation needed to complete assigned work.
  • Coordinate testing activities, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment readiness efforts.
  • Help identify and resolve project blockers through collaboration with project stakeholders.

Process Improvement
  • Assist in developing repeatable project management standards and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, communication processes, and project delivery methods.
  • Support the implementation and administration of project management and documentation tools.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across technology and business operations.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of project coordination, project management, business analyst, implementation, or similar experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience creating detailed project documentation and workflow diagrams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles (SDLC).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with software development teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Understanding of APIs, integrations, databases, and web-based applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Experience using ClickUp, Jira, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar project management platforms.
  • Experience with Lucidchart, Visio, Miro, or similar workflow and process mapping tools.
  • PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master, or Business Analyst certifications are a plus.

This role is not expected to perform software development work but should possess sufficient technical understanding to understand software development concepts, participate in discussions regarding integrations and application workflows, translate business requirements into technical documentation, identify project dependencies and risks, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
