Sr IT Project Manager

Salary Range: $120,000.00 to $150,000.00 depending on experience.

Summary: The Sr Proj Mgr IT is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex software initiatives across the full software development lifecycle. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, QA, and third-party vendors to ensure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives. This position emphasizes requirements management, delivery governance, testing coordination, and stakeholder communication in a multi-project environment with competing priorities and shared resources. Provide work direction to less senior project managers.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead Software Project Delivery Across the Full SDLC
    • Plan, organize, and manage complex software development initiatives from initiation through production release and post-implementation transition.
    • Define project objectives, success criteria, and delivery plans aligned to business priorities.
    • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
    • Proactively identify delivery risks, issues, and dependencies, and drive resolution in collaboration with engineering, QA, and business stakeholders.
  • Drive Requirements Coordination and Delivery Readiness
    • Facilitate requirements discovery and validation activities in partnership with business stakeholders and product owners, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, documented, reviewed, and approved for delivery.
    • Ensure requirements are actionable for development teams and traceable through design, build, testing, and release.
    • Ensure requirements, quality and readiness to support efficient software delivery.
  • Manage Project Controls: Scope, Schedule, Risk, and Change
    • Establish and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, and dependency tracking across multiple concurrent initiatives.
    • Manage scope control and change management processes to ensure alignment with approved business objectives.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as appropriate.
    • Balance competing priorities and resource constraints while maintaining delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate Testing and Release Activities
    • Plan and coordinate system, integration, and user acceptance testing activities in partnership with QA teams and business stakeholders.
    • Ensure test plans, test execution, defect tracking, and remediation processes are followed.
    • Validate release readiness and coordinate deployment, release communication, and transition to support and operations teams.
  • Provide Stakeholder Communication and Executive Reporting (10%)
    • Deliver regular, clear, and concise project status reporting to leadership, sponsors, and stakeholders.
    • Communicate progress, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies at both operational and executive levels.
    • Facilitate steering committee updates and decision-making forums as required to support timely delivery and issue resolution.

Qualifications: 

  • BA Degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, Business) or equivalent
  • A minimum of eight years of software project management across the full Software Development Life Cycle with an
    emphasis on requirements management (implementation, documentation, and traceability), delivery governance, testing coordination, cross-functional stakeholder management and communication in a multi-project environment with competing priorities and shared resources.
    • Expertise in project scope, change and risk management
    • Expertise in coordination of system, integration, and user acceptance testing
    • Expertise in leading multiple project teams, delegating work, managing team accountability/gap analysis in
      complex highly integrated environments
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and manage projects in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor and third-party delivery coordination
  • Must have experience managing Executive-level communication and reporting
  • Must have ability to travel periodically
