Job description

This is a remote role within the United States. Needs to be based in Eastern or Central time zones. US work authorization is required.

About VIATechnik:

VIATechnik is the global leader in Virtual Design and Construction. We have over 400 digital experts around the globe. The firm's services include Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual & Augmented Reality, Digital Twins, and Enterprise Software Application Development.

We work on some of the industry's largest and most interesting projects such as Apple's new headquarters, Virgin Hyperloop One, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) modernization & expansions, Denver International Airport, Chicago O'Hare International Airport, Hudson Yards, the Atlanta Falcons Stadium, Chase Arena, the Tesla Gigafactory and many more. Our team is made up of leading VDC professionals, technologists, architects, and engineers who have a passion for solving problems and a thirst for learning. We are results-driven, creative solution finders and enjoy putting ourselves in our clients' shoes.

This is not a traditional project management role.

It's a delivery leadership opportunity for someone who wants ownership, impact, and variety across complex software initiatives.

VIATechnik is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead multiple, high-impact software development projects from early planning through deployment. You'll work closely with engineering teams, product leaders, and clients to turn ambiguity into execution-and execution into results.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Over your first year, success in this role means:

  • Delivering multiple software projects end-to-end-on time, on scope, and aligned to real business outcomes
  • Creating clarity where there is ambiguity, translating goals into executable plans, milestones, and priorities
  • Building trust with engineers and stakeholders through clear communication, sound judgment, and follow-through
  • Adapting quickly to change-shifting priorities, evolving requirements, new technologies-without losing momentum
  • Owning outcomes, not just managing tasks-stepping into details when needed and leading at a higher level when required
  • Improving how delivery works, introducing smarter planning, better visibility, and pragmatic process improvements
  • Leveraging modern tools, automation, and AI to improve forecasting, reporting, and decision-making across projects

Who Thrives in This Role

This role is a strong fit for someone who:

  • Has led multiple complex software development projects in fast-moving environments
  • Is comfortable operating without rigid playbooks, tailoring approach based on team, product, and context
  • Learns new domains and technologies quickly and applies that learning in real time
  • Balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Takes personal ownership for delivery results and team success
  • Values continuous improvement over process purity

Why This Is a Career Move

Top performers in this role gain:

  • Exposure to diverse clients, technologies, and problem spaces
  • Real influence over how software delivery is executed, not just tracked
  • A path toward broader delivery leadership and enterprise-level impact
  • Autonomy, trust, and the opportunity to build a reputation as a go-to delivery leader

Application Information

We'd like to hear your story. During the interview process, you'll be asked to share a short summary of a comparable accomplishment you've delivered. Think about one that is something similar in scope, complexity, or business impact to the challenges described in the job description.

Compensation and featured benefits:

  • The pay for this position is $135,000 – $150,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
  • Open and flexible time off
  • A 401(k) plan that is fully vested immediately
  • Home office setup costs
  • Paid holidays

As a minority and woman owned and led company, VIATechnik seeks to build a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. VIATechnik is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.
