This position will perform project management functions with a team of engineers, scientists, for projects in research, demonstration, or development of new technologies. Work Location
This position is California-based and will be fully remote. Periodic domestic travel may be required several weeks per year during normal work weekdays.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Detailed project management to include project planning, including project scope, budget and schedule creation and maintenance, customer interactions, overseeing contractual execution and compliance, presenting, and report writing.
  • Ensure all reporting requirements to Federal Government Agencies and State Agencies (e.g., California Energy Commission) are met on a timely basis.
  • Generate, maintain and execute, in cooperation with all parties, a detailed Risk Management Plan.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external project teams to gather and provide essential information that contributes to project success, including scope management, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.
  • Organize and summarize project status and financial data to keep team members and stakeholders informed of progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Utilize appropriate project management tools, such as MS Project, MS Planner, etc., to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Participate in project planning discussions, offering input and insights based on current project factors and requirements.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and practices, contributing to a secure and productive work environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Demonstrated experience delivering successful projects in a technical environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for learning and understanding technical concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in using project management tools and software, such as Primavera, MS Project, Excel, or other relevant applications.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow within a dynamic project management team.
  • Passion for contributing to the successful execution of projects and driving project management excellence.
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity managing California Energy Commission projects, CalNEXT, or Statewide Gas Emerging Technologies (GET) programs preferred

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science-related field, preferably from an ABET/EAC-accredited program institution or university
  • 7+ years of relevant, professional-level work experience after a B.S.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience after an M.S.
    • 2+ years of experience after a Ph.D.
  • Graduate-level research may qualify as relevant work experience
  • Formal training leading to a PMP Certification preferred

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 USD annually. This salary range is GTI Energy's good faith estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, GTI Energy's business or organizational needs and an individual's relevant experience, education, qualifications, certifications, skills, seniority, geographic location, and/or performance. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus. The range listed is just one component of GTI Energy's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, paid time off, and region-specific benefits.
