Remote Signage Designer information

What is a remote signage designer?

A Remote Signage Designer is a professional who creates visual designs for signs, displays, and digital signage while working from a location outside of the client's office, typically from home or another remote workspace. Their responsibilities include conceptualizing, designing, and delivering graphics and layouts for both physical and digital signage. They often collaborate with clients, marketing teams, and vendors via online communication tools to ensure that the signage aligns with branding and messaging goals. Remote Signage Designers need strong graphic design skills and must be proficient in tools like Adobe Creative Suite. They may work freelance, for design agencies, or as part of a remote in-house team.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote signage designer?

To thrive as a Remote Signage Designer, you need a strong background in graphic design, visual communication, and proficiency with industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, often supported by a degree or certificate in design or a related field. Familiarity with digital signage platforms, file preparation for print or digital display, and knowledge of branding guidelines are important technical aspects of the role. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective remote collaboration and communication skills help designers stand out in this position. These skills ensure that signage projects are visually compelling, brand-consistent, and delivered efficiently in a remote work environment.

How do remote signage designers typically collaborate with clients and team members during a project?

Remote Signage Designers frequently use digital collaboration tools such as video conferencing, project management platforms, and cloud-based design software to communicate with clients and colleagues. Regular check-ins and feedback sessions are essential to ensure the design aligns with branding guidelines and client expectations. Since the work is remote, clear and timely communication, along with well-organized file sharing, helps streamline the design process and avoid misunderstandings. Team members may include project managers, copywriters, and installation specialists, so being proactive and responsive greatly contributes to project success.

Backed by a dedicated global team of individuals aligned by values, Worldly proudly operates as a public benefit corporation with backing from mission-aligned investors. Want to learn more? Read our story.
About The Role
Worldly is hiring a part-time contract designer to support our marketing team across campaigns, web, social, events, and executive communications. You'll work within Worldly's existing brand system, evolving and extending it where needed.
A key part of the role is turning messaging and complex sustainability and supply chain information into clear, compelling visual communication. You'll help audiences quickly understand Worldly's data, insights, and value, while building a distinctive and consistent brand experience across every touchpoint.
You'll report to the Director, Marketing and partner closely with the Director, Product Design on brand expression, visual systems, and consistency across marketing and product experiences.
What You'll Do
  • Design marketing assets across campaigns, landing pages, social, digital promotion, and event graphics.
  • Work from Worldly's brand system, evolving and extending it as the work requires, and identifying opportunities to strengthen it.
  • Design executive presentations and customer-facing decks, and strengthen slide templates so the team can produce great slides without routing each one through design.
  • Lead the visual design of Worldly's event presence, including booth graphics, signage, and session materials.
  • Establish a strong photography library the Worldly team can use in slides and other assets.
  • Turn supply chain and sustainability data into clear charts, diagrams, explainers, and report layouts.
  • Create reusable templates, components, and visual patterns that enable the wider marketing team to produce high-quality, on-brand work independently.
  • Partner with the Director, Product Design on shared visual patterns and brand expression across marketing and product touchpoints.

We'd Like to See
  • Minimum 7 years designing for B2B or technology brands, with a portfolio showing brand systems and range across formats.
  • Strong visual judgement and craft, with the ability to move comfortably between concept development and hands-on production.
  • Strong information design and data visualization skills.
  • Fluency in Figma, and competence in Canva and presentation design in Google Slides or PowerPoint.
  • Experience across digital and physical formats - web and social as well as event graphics and print.
  • Ability to work independently from a brief, without daily art direction.
  • Working hours with meaningful overlap with the North America workday.
  • Experience using AI tools in your design workflow, or interest in building that skill.

It Helps If You Have
  • Experience in sustainability, climate, supply chain, or consumer goods.
  • Motion design or short-form video for social.
  • Experience working within a shared design system or alongside a product design team.
  • Event or trade show production experience.

Life at Worldly
Our team is motivated to transform the way products are made. By helping our customers succeed in a new era of sustainable production, we are able to build technology that makes a difference on a planetary level.
Our team represents over 15 countries and brings unique experiences from technology to farming to the table. Surround yourself with kind, enthusiastic, and dedicated people who put collaboration and growth at the center of our shared goals.
Equity Statement
We believe it's essential to reflect the diversity of those we strive to serve. True innovation happens when everyone has room at the table, including the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel. We're dedicated to building a culturally and experientially diverse team that leads and works with empathy and respect.
Role Details
  • Hours: 20 hours per week
  • Compensation:
    • $80-$100 hourly - US
    • $61 - $76 hourly - UK
    • $56 - $70 hourly - EU
  • Location: Remote - United States, Europe, or United Kingdom
  • Please Note: This is an independent contractor engagement for an initial three-month term, extended as needed. It is not eligible for Worldly's employee benefits, retirement matching, or equity programs.

*Final compensation figures will be determined based on a wide variety of factors, including experience and location. These factors will be evaluated and considered by Worldly throughout the entirety of this process.
**For candidates located outside the U.S., the pay range listed in USD will be paid in the local currency equivalent at the time of offer using the then-current exchange rate.
