Job description

Community Relations Specialist - Kids Dental Brands

Founded in 2002, Kids Dental Brands has been dedicated to providing high-quality dental care to children of all backgrounds in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. With nearly 60 practices across the country, we continue to grow by staying true to our patient-centered, doctor-led philosophy.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Community Relations Specialist to serve as the face of our practices throughout the community. This role is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with schools, Head Start programs, pediatric healthcare providers, non-profit organizations, public health partners, and local businesses to increase awareness of our services and expand access to care.

This is a highly relationship-driven position focused on creating meaningful community connections that support patient growth and positively impact the families we serve. You'll lead local outreach efforts, develop and maintain referral partnerships, represent the organization at community events, and serve as a visible ambassador for our practices. In addition, you'll support charitable initiatives through our Caring for Community program, help expand our Mobile Dentistry efforts, and identify opportunities to generate positive media coverage and social media content that increases awareness of our mission and community impact.

The ideal candidate is an organized, relationship-driven professional who enjoys connecting with people and building partnerships. They are a strong communicator who can engage effectively with a wide variety of audiences, from school administrators and healthcare professionals to referral partners, providers, and office teams. We're looking for someone who is confident, proactive, and comfortable working independently while balancing multiple priorities. The ability to build trust, maintain long-term relationships, and represent the organization professionally in a wide range of settings is essential.

Travel Requirements: This position is based in Ohio and requires approximately 35% travel, including regular travel between local Ohio offices, community events, and referral partner visits. A $500 monthly car allowance is provided.

What You'll Do

  • Applicants must be based in or around Springfield, Ohio or Dayton, Ohio
  • Serve as the community ambassador for our practices, building awareness and strengthening our presence throughout the Ohio region.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with schools, Head Start programs, pediatric healthcare providers, non-profits, and community organizations.
  • Maintain a consistent outreach schedule with referral partners through regular visits, communication, and relationship-building activities.
  • Lead and support initiatives within our Caring for Community program, including donation drives, community partnerships, and charitable outreach efforts.
  • Help grow participation in our Mobile Dentistry program and support the planning and execution of community events.
  • Represent the organization at health fairs, school functions, networking events, and other public-facing opportunities.
  • Capture and create engaging social media content that highlights community partnerships, outreach initiatives, events, and the impact our practices make throughout the communities we serve.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to generate community-focused content, media opportunities, and social media engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to generate positive media coverage and increase local awareness of our practices and community impact.
  • Track outreach activity, partnership development, and community engagement metrics.
  • Partner closely with local offices and remote leadership teams to align outreach efforts with organizational goals.
  • Maintain regular reporting and communication regarding outreach activities and growth opportunities.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and SharePoint, to manage activities and communication.
  • Utilize HubSpot, Canva, Hootsuite, and other digital tools to support outreach initiatives, relationship management, content creation, and community engagement efforts
  • Uphold company core values of compassion, authenticity, talent, and teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What to Expect

  • Home Base: Applicants must be based in or around Springfield, Ohio or Dayton, Ohio
  • Work Environment: This is a remote position that is primarily performed in the field. While some administrative work may be completed remotely, much of the role involves visiting practices, referral partners, schools, and community organizations throughout your assigned territory.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel typically occurs approximately two days per week (about 35% of the time), though frequency may vary based on business needs. Travel is localized to Ohio and includes visits to our four (and growing!) dental practices in Springfield, Hamilton, Maumee, and Cuyahoga Falls, as well as community partners throughout the region. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Compensation: $57,000-$60,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Bonus Opportunities: up to $10,000 annually ($2500 per quarter)

Position Requirements

  • 1+ years of community outreach, business development, public relations, healthcare marketing, fundraising, territory management, or relationship-based sales experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with the community
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Comfortable with regular local travel
