Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations to assess the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms experienced by clients.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that are tailored to meet the unique goals and preferences of each client.
• Utilize evidence-based therapies, including innovative techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to engage clients effectively.
• Provide education and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices to enhance their understanding and management of conditions.
• Monitor client progress methodically, regularly adjusting treatment plans to respond to clients’ changing needs and circumstances.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and medical professionals to provide coordinated and holistic care.
• Stay informed on the latest research relating to mood disorders to continually refine intervention strategies and applied treatment methodologies.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation as per legal, ethical, and organizational guidelines.
• Engage in regular case consultations, attend team meetings, and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance therapeutic skills.
• Advocate for clients' mental health needs, striving to reduce stigma and promote awareness in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal therapist will primarily work with clients facing various mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, the therapist will support distinct populations such as individuals experiencing homelessness, immigrants seeking stability, and victims of domestic abuse, all of whom require compassionate understanding and specialized care.

Qualifications

• Current and active state licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field, demonstrating advanced knowledge of therapeutic practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills capable of fostering a trustworthy and secure therapeutic alliance with clients.
• Emotional intelligence with a non-judgmental, empathetic approach to client interactions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively handle caseloads and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with diverse populations, particularly those experiencing mood disorders or other psychological challenges.
• Knowledge of and experience in applying evidence-based therapies effectively.
• Background in community mental health settings, ideally within a remote service structure.
• Familiarity with advocacy initiatives addressing mental health stigma and client rights.

• A competitive annual salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
