Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients and document case histories, ensuring accurate records from the first consultation through the duration of treatment.
  • Evaluate and assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health using established screening tools and personal interviews.
  • Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for diverse client demographics, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring their unique needs and preferences are met.
  • Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to support emotional growth.
  • Monitor and document clients' progress, adapting treatment plans as needed to reflect their evolving needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to create a holistic approach to each client's care.
  • Coordinate follow-up care with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers for clients who have been admitted to the hospital, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Proactively identify and address behaviors that could hinder recovery, equipping clients and their families with strategies to overcome obstacles.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, enhancing their ability to manage mental health challenges effectively.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The mental health counselor will work with a diverse client population that includes children, adolescents, adults, and families grappling with a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and addiction. Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in Massachusetts.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
