• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health, identifying their strengths and challenges.
• Deliver tailored individual, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing.
• Design and implement detailed treatment plans, documenting goals, interventions, and client progress over time.
• Engage collaboratively with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
• Provide crisis intervention services, carrying out risk assessments and developing effective safety plans to support clients in distress.
• Actively advocate for clients' rights, linking them with community resources and offering case management support to enhance outcomes.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives, raising awareness of mental health issues and promoting available resources.

As an LCSW at Sentara Wellness Center, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, and families, within a school-based setting. Your role is vital in addressing various mental health issues, building trusting relationships, and facilitating clients’ paths toward recovery and well-being.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.
• Demonstrated proficiency in working with diverse populations with varying cultural backgrounds.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a strong capacity for empathy and problem-solving.

• Previous experience in a community mental health or educational setting is highly preferred.
• A strong understanding of cultural competency and the skills to apply this knowledge in therapeutic practice.
