Short Description
The Virtual Registered Nurse (VRN) is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who helps oversee and provide care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. The VRN role advocates for patients and supports bedside staff, facilitates learning, aligns practice with safety and quality and engages in professional development. The virtual nurse will work both collaboratively and independently on the care processes available via the technologies available, including the use of available artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Experience Required
Required 2 years acute care hospital RN Med Surg or critical care acute inpatient experience.
Education Requirements
BSN required.
License/Certification Requirements
Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse); Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers); certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS)
Special Requirements
This role is 100% on-site, duties include bedside nursing, this is not a virtual role.
Part time, 7am-7pm, Weekends/holidays with rotation.
Proficiency in computer and technology skills and operation.
Epic documentation and user proficiency.
Must maintain clinical competency with at least 4 shifts per year, at least one per quarter, to maintain ongoing competency in a rapidly evolving care model.
