  • You will control access and departures of vehicles and pedestrians in controlled areas to prevent unauthorized access.
  • You will direct vehicles and pedestrian traffic during periods of emergency or increased traffic.
  • You will assist personnel during an emergency situation (e.g., accidents, drills, fire, natural disasters, motor vehicle or industrial accidents, political demonstrations, hostage or terrorist situations) to protect the safety of life and property.
  • You will perform and resolve a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments including researching and accessing databases in accordance with federal and state laws.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications
GS-06:Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Authenticating identification for access to restricted areas; 2) Regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic to maintain traffic flow and security operations; 3) Granting or denying personnel access into restricted areas; and 4) Preforming private and commercial vehicle inspections and package inspections following prescribed procedures to ensure only authorized property is brought into or removed from facilities.
GS-05:Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Screening and/or inspecting personal and commercial vehicles requesting installation access; 2) Controlling personnel access by verifying identification/credentials; 3) Patrolling buildings or perimeters for suspicious activity; and 4) Maintaining desk logs, desk journals, and pass-down logbooks to document security events.
GS-04:Your resume must also demonstrate at least 6 months of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Screening and/or inspecting personal and commercial vehicles requesting installation access; 2) Controlling personnel access by verifying identification/credentials; 3) Patrolling buildings or perimeters for suspicious activity; and 4) Maintaining desk logs, desk journals, and pass-down logbooks to document security events.

Several vacancies may be filled.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
