Compensation: $70,000-$83,000+ DOE

Addison Group is partnering with a globally recognized law firm, to identify an experienced Legal Support Specialist for their Austin office.

This position supports a busy Appellate Practice Group and offers the opportunity to work closely with accomplished attorneys on complex litigation and appellate matters. The Austin office maintains a collaborative, team-oriented culture while providing the resources and reputation of an international law firm. Position Overview

The Legal Support Specialist will provide high-level administrative and legal support to a team of attorneys, with a primary focus on appellate and complex litigation matters. This individual will be responsible for managing attorney calendars, coordinating filings, preparing legal documents, maintaining case files, and ensuring deadlines are met with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, able to anticipate needs, and experienced supporting attorneys in a demanding legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys.
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, motions, briefs, and appellate filings.
  • Coordinate and submit e-filings in Federal, State, and Appellate Courts.
  • Prepare appellate briefs, appendices, tables of contents, and tables of authorities in compliance with court rules.
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, court appearances, client meetings, depositions, and travel arrangements.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
  • Assist with litigation matters from case inception through post-trial activities.
  • Prepare billing materials and enter attorney time records.
  • Coordinate document production and ensure accuracy of final work product.
  • Monitor case deadlines and maintain litigation calendars.
  • Support attorneys with research, case organization, and special projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, legal staff, and administrative teams to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional client service.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal Support Specialist, or Legal Administrative Assistant.
  • Experience supporting litigation practices required.
  • Appellate litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within a business law or large law firm environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of court procedures and legal filings.
  • Familiarity with Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and court filing requirements.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate attorney needs and work independently.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including styles, formatting, document comparison, tables of contents, and tables of authorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with e-filing platforms and document management systems.
