The Xu Lab at The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota, is seeking a highly motivated and organized postdoctoral fellow. Our research focuses on understanding how transcriptome regulation and stability govern metabolic homeostasis. We have established an integrated research platform combining metabolic physiology, bioinformatics, and RNA molecular biology. The successful candidate will investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic regulation, with the long-term goal of identifying new therapeutic strategies for obesity-related diseases. Focus of Job Responsibilities
70% - Ongoing Research
ย ย ย ย Participate in the design and implementation of hypothesis-driven research projects.
ย ย ย ย Independently carry out the design and execution of experimental research required by the research component of the project.
ย ย ย ย Develop connections with local and international researchers for collaboration work.
15% - Analysis & Review
ย ย ย ย Conduct analysis and review of generated data and reviewing previously reported scientific literature.
15% - Scientific writing
ย ย ย ย Write manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.ย
ย ย ย ย Write and review research papers, present research outcomes, conceptualize new ideas, and develop plans for independent research.
Flexible Work Profile

Flexible Work Profile One, Office/Lab-Based - is expected to work primarily on-site in the office/lab. Only occasionally and inconsistently working remotely. Your office will be located at The Hormel Institute in Austin, Minnesota. The Hormel Institute management retains the right to modify flexible work arrangement agreements on a temporary or permanent basis for any reason at any time.
