Job description

Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a cleared Platform Engineer opening for our client in Columbia, MD.

Location: Columbia, MD (hybrid remote)
Duration: Permanent placement

Duties:

  • Develop and integrate custom software components to solve complex time series analysis problems using cutting-edge Big Data and Cloud technology.
  • Collaborate with Architects to identify and implement strategic goals.
  • Design, implement, and manage core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications.
  • Enhance, optimize, and increase the robustness of existing code bases.
  • Leverage infrastructure as code to define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in AWS.
  • Support customer site work in San Antonio, collaborating with clients and stakeholders.

Skills:

  • Strong programming skills in Python (Java is a plus).
  • Proficient in Linux systems, including hosts, networks, and security.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure development.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting (Shell/Bash).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Python or Java) with a Bachelor’s in a related field; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s in a related field; OR a High School Diploma with 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a current TS/SCI level U.S. government security clearance.
  • Experience with DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications (SSCP, Security+, CCNA-Security, or GSEC) and baseline certifications (e.g., ACAS, AWS, Kubernetes).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
