Empower Care Mental Health Clinic is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide remote support for students within a school-based setting in Athens, Georgia. This full-time position offers qualified candidates the opportunity to deliver meaningful mental health services to youth and their families, with a salary range of USD 60,000 to 104,000 annually, depending on experience and credentials.

Work Environment

This role is conducted remotely, allowing counselors the flexibility to manage their schedules effectively while reaching out to students and families. Our clinic operates Monday through Saturday, providing a robust structure for clinicians to offer therapy at times that are convenient for students and their families. Counselors will have access to supportive administrative services, including credentialing and insurance management, enabling them to focus on delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments for individuals, families, and groups to identify mental health needs and develop personalized intervention plans.
  • Provide graduate-level clinical social work and counseling interventions, employing best practices in mental health therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to discuss assessment findings, treatment methods, and establish comprehensive care plans during regular team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes, ensuring adherence to ethical and professional standards.
  • Deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based therapeutic modalities to support clients in achieving their mental health goals.
  • Engage in case management activities, working with both community and hospital professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Mental Health Counselor will primarily serve students and their families within the Athens community, focusing on youth who are experiencing a range of emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. The role involves addressing mental health concerns prevalent in adolescents, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and academic stress. Counselors will play a crucial role in helping students navigate these challenges, providing a safe and supportive space for therapy.

Qualifications
  • A valid and current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
