Job description

Position Overview
Power your future with Qualus as a Sr Power Systems Engineer. We are seeking an experienced Outage Management and Advanced Distribution Management Systems (OMS/ADMS) Power Systems Engineer to support the delivery, configuration, implementation, and optimization of utility grid management solutions. This role focuses on the successful deployment of monarch OMS and ADMS platforms, working closely with utility clients, project managers, GIS teams, SCADA engineers, and operations personnel.
The ideal candidate has direct experience implementing Emerson DGM (monarch) OMS/ADMS solutions for electric utilities and possesses strong knowledge of distribution system operations, outage restoration processes, switching operations, network modeling, and utility integration architectures.
This position plays a key role throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, system configuration, testing, deployment, commissioning, and post-go-live support.
Responsibilities
  • Lead or support the implementation of OMS and ADMS solutions for electric utility clients.
  • Configure and deploy OMS and ADMS applications to meet utility operational and business requirements.
  • Participate in project planning, design workshops, functional reviews, and solution architecture discussions.
  • Translate utility operational requirements into OMS/ADMS system configurations and workflows.
  • Support system commissioning, cutover activities, and production go-live events.
  • Design and support integrations between OMS/ADMS and utility enterprise systems including:
    • Geographic Information System (GIS)
    • Distribution Management System (DMS)
    • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
    • Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
    • Customer Information System (CIS)
    • Energy Management System (EMS)
    • Work Management Systems
    • Asset Management Systems

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of utility industry experience.
  • 3+ years of direct OMS and/or ADMS implementation experience.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and deploying Emerson DGM/monarch OMS and ADMS solutions.
  • Strong understanding of electric distribution systems and utility operations.
  • Experience working on utility software implementation or digital transformation programs.
  • Knowledge of distribution network modeling and topology validation.
  • Experience with utility data systems including GIS and SCADA.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work directly with utility customers and project stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Right to work in the US (e.g., US citizen or permanent resident).
