Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to support its client in Herefordshire. This statutory role within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service focuses on managing and coordinating allegations against individuals in positions of trust. Extensive recent LADO experience is essential to enable a swift start.
Location: Fully Remote | Contract: Initial 6 months (Fulltime, 37 hours per week).

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Allegation Management: Coordinate and manage allegations against people working with children in a paid or voluntary capacity, ensuring processes are robust, fair, and timely.
  • Advice & Guidance: Act as the primary point of contact for employers and organizations, providing expert guidance when an adult's behavior suggests they may have harmed a child or are unsuitable for their role.
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure all actions align with the "Working Together to Safeguard Children" framework regarding people in positions of trust.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work effectively with partner agencies and stakeholders, maintaining positive working relationships while ensuring safeguarding standards are met.
  • Risk Management: Apply advanced knowledge and skills to assess and manage risks associated with professional conduct and child safety.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have, 

  • Social Work England registration and a recognized Social Work degree.
  • Extensive LADO Experience: You must already be working as a LADO or have significant, recent experience in this specific statutory role.
  • Safeguarding Expertise: Deep post-qualifying experience in children's safeguarding and a thorough understanding of the underpinning legislation.
  • Multi-Agency Scrutiny: Proven ability to work across agencies with the confidence to provide professional scrutiny and challenge where necessary.
Working Environment & Flexibility:
  • Remote Working: This position is fully remote, offering maximum flexibility for the duration of the 6-month contract.
  • Team Support: You will work within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service, contributing to a team dedicated to high-quality safeguarding practice.
  • Contract Duration: This is an initial 6-month placement with the potential for extension based on service needs.
