We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity (ICDI) Specialist to support accurate clinical documentation and coding in a fully remote healthcare environment. This role is ideal for professionals with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of inpatient documentation, coding, and compliance.

Location: Rochester, MN, 55902 (100% Remote)
Shift: MondayโFriday (8 AM โ 5 PM EST)
Pay: $55-60/hr
Contract Duration: 52 weeks

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced ICDI Specialist to review inpatient medical records and ensure accurate representation of severity of illness, risk of mortality, and medical necessity. The specialist will collaborate with providers and healthcare teams to improve documentation quality and support compliant coding practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review inpatient medical records for accurate clinical documentation and coding
- Ensure proper representation of severity of illness and risk of mortality
- Identify documentation gaps through concurrent and retrospective reviews
- Collaborate with physicians, coders, and care teams to improve documentation
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory standards
- Educate providers on documentation best practices
- Analyze disease processes, treatments, and medications for accuracy
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with policies
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in clinical documentation/coding
- At least 2 years of ICDI experience in an inpatient setting
- Recent production experience within the last 12 months
- Certification required: CDIP or CCDS
- One of the following credentials: RHIT, RHIA, RN, RRT, CCS, CCS-P, or MD
- Strong knowledge of pathophysiology, medications, and coding practices
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, coding, and billing
