This position allows for a remote work setting, giving you the flexibility to manage your schedule while attending to the needs of students and their families. While the majority of services are provided virtually, you may occasionally engage with students and staff onsite at local schools. Your work hours will generally be weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the potential for some evenings or weekends as needed to accommodate clients’ schedules and urgent situations.

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify the needs of students and their families in an educational setting.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with students, families, and educational staff based on identified needs.
• Provide counseling and emotional support to students, helping them handle academic pressures, social interactions, and personal challenges.
• Advocate for students' needs, ensuring their access to vital community resources, educational programs, and support services.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, school nurses, and mental health professionals, to coordinate care and enhance educational experiences.
• Regularly monitor and review student progress, conducting follow-up visits to assess effectiveness of interventions.
• Facilitate communication between students and their families, mediating discussions when necessary to resolve conflicts.
• Educate families about available community resources and workshops designed to promote family engagement and support.
• Document all assessments, progress notes, and care plans accurately to maintain client confidentiality and compliance with ethical standards.
• Stay informed about best practices in social work and education, adapting services in accordance with evolving policies and regulations.

Your primary focus will be the student population within various schools in Erie, PA. This role calls for nurturing relationships with students facing a range of challenges, including academic stress, familial issues, and social difficulties. Your work will directly impact their emotional health, aiming to foster resilience and a conducive learning environment.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Current, valid state licensure as a Master Social Worker (LMSW) is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years of experience as a social worker, ideally in a school setting or a community center focused on youth services.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development, family systems, and community resources relevant to education and mental health.
• Strong skills in assessment, counseling, and problem-solving tailored to youth and family dynamics.
• Ability to communicate effectively, exhibiting empathy and rapport-building techniques with students and their families.
• Capable of collaborating effectively with team members, including educators, caregivers, and mental health specialists.
• Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications to document and track client information efficiently.

• Experience working within school systems and understanding educational policies is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with creating and delivering workshops for staff and families on topics related to social-emotional learning.
• Prior engagement in community outreach initiatives aimed at enhancing student success rates.
