• Conduct detailed mental health assessments, taking into account each student's personal history, presenting issues, and risk factors to inform effective treatment planning.
• Collaborate with students to develop individualized treatment plans that address specific mental health challenges, foster emotional resilience, and enhance their overall school experience.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care techniques, during individual and group therapy sessions.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at personal growth, emotional regulation, and the development of effective coping strategies susceptible to a culturally diverse student body.
• Work in conjunction with other mental health professionals to ensure a comprehensive, holistic approach to care, including regular communication with psychiatrists and nurse practitioners.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention for urgent mental health situations, utilizing de-escalation strategies to maintain student safety while facilitating appropriate referrals for higher care when necessary.
• Educate students and families regarding mental health conditions and available resources, ensuring they are empowered to manage their mental health effectively.
• Maintain clear, thorough documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering insights and ongoing collaboration to cultivate an enriching educational environment.
• Stay updated with the latest laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines relevant to mental health practices, specifically in educational contexts.

The primary focus of this role is to support students within a community health clinic paradigm, catering to a young, diverse population experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. Understanding and addressing the unique sociocultural backgrounds of our clients is critical to fostering an effective therapeutic alliance.

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Missouri.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health care, preferably within educational settings.
• Strong foundation in mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and proficiency in trauma-informed care.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate applicable treatment strategies.
