Title:ย Senior Project Manager (IT/Security)ย (Remote)

Duration: 1 year with 37.5 hours a week

Location: Remote

On-site (Springfield, IL) presence during the first week is required for onboarding and meeting the team (Minimum 3 days).

Job Summaryย 

Our client is seekingย a Senior Project Manager to support the Information Security team in planning, executing, and delivering IT security initiatives. This is a hands-on role requiring a technical project manager with cybersecurity ("security shop") experience who will actively manage projects-not just observe. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the team, driving execution, anticipating risks, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex initiatives.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Actively lead and manage projects end-to-end, ensuring timely and successful deliveryย 
  • Track project status, monitor progress, and provide clear updates to stakeholdersย 
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues proactivelyย 
  • Develop a strong understanding of project scope, timelines, and dependenciesย 
  • Serve as a key partner to stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor ("project manager whisperer")ย 
  • Be an integral part of the team, contributing to both planning and executionย 
  • Forecast potential risks/issues and communicate them effectively with mitigation strategiesย 
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and timelinesย 
  • Create, assign, and manage tasks across project teamsย 
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, leadership, and stakeholdersย 
  • Ensure adherence to EPMO standards, project charters, and required documentation.ย Coach teams on project management processes and best practicesย 
  • Facilitate status meetings, reporting, and stakeholder communicationย 
  • Drive audit remediation efforts, including identifying issues, defining tasks, and ensuring resolutionย 
  • Support and manage change management initiativesย 
  • Oversee technical deployments, ensuring smooth executionย 
  • Collaborate closely with security teams to align priorities and executionย 


Required Qualificationsย 

  • 8 years of experience in Project Management, including 5 years leading IT security initiativesย 
  • Proven experience as a hands-on Technical Project Manager in a cybersecurity environmentย 
  • Experience working within an EPMO or PMO environment, with adherence to project governance standards, charter development, and required documentationย 
  • Strong ability to manage, not just coordinate, complex projectsย 
  • Experience with Microsoft Project for planning and trackingย 
  • Experience with ServiceNow SPM (Strategic Portfolio Management) moduleย 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (required)ย 
  • Strong understanding of audit remediation, risk management, and complianceย 
  • Experience managing change management and technical deploymentsย 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyย 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skillsย 
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into actionable plans.
