As a Mental Health Counselor at our outpatient office, you will work remotely, allowing you to deliver care from the comfort of your own home while benefiting from a structured schedule of Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will connect with patients through teletherapy sessions, utilizing various technological tools to ensure effective communication and care. Our team operates on a foundation of collaboration, with regular check-ins and training opportunities to support your professional journey.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments to accurately identify patients’ needs and formulate personalized treatment plans that consider their unique circumstances.
• Providing individual, couples, and family therapy using evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused approaches to facilitate meaningful change.
• Leading psychoeducational and support groups that promote mental health awareness, resilience, and community connection.
• Collaborating effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and integrated patient care.
• Offering crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies, clearly assessing risk and developing safety plans.
• Educating patients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and resources available in the community to empower them on their recovery journey.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
• Actively participating in ongoing case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education initiatives to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field.
• Staying informed on current research and advancements in mental health therapies to ensure the highest standard of care.

Our clientele ranges from children and adolescents to adults of all ages facing various mental health challenges. This role requires a nuanced understanding of the complexities involved in treating diverse populations, including individuals with different cultural backgrounds, varying degrees of mental health literacy, and specific treatment needs. You will employ culturally competent approaches to ensure all patients feel respected and understood.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
• A strong foundation in mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and therapeutic techniques, with a commitment to evidence-based practice.
• Experience with case management and advocacy for mental health resources, ensuring robust support for our patients.

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous:

• Experience working in outpatient mental health settings, particularly with the adult population.
• A background in crisis intervention and mental health emergency management.
• Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and remote counseling best practices.
