Overview:
Fredrikson is seeking a New Business Intake & Compliance Coordinator to join our Risk Management team. This role serves as a key partner in the firm's client and matter intake processes, helping ensure compliance with firm policies, professional responsibility obligations, client engagement requirements, and risk management standards.
In addition to core intake responsibilities, this role will actively support ongoing data governance initiatives, including data cleanup, standardization, and quality assurance efforts within the conflicts system. The New Business Intake & Compliance Coordinator will work closely with Risk Management, Conflicts, Contracts & Compliance, Finance, Information Technology, and will report to the firm's Risk Counsel. This position helps identify and mitigate risk while supporting efficient business operations.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and service-oriented, with the ability to evaluate complex information, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Intake & Matter Management
* Review and process new client and matter intake requests to ensure information is complete, accurate, and compliant with firm requirements.
* Assist with conflict review and clearance processes by analyzing client, matter, and related-party information.
* Coordinate with attorneys and business professionals to facilitate timely client onboarding and matter openings.
* Maintain the accuracy and integrity of client and matter information within firm systems.
Data Integrity & Database Management
* Perform ongoing data cleanup projects within the conflicts database, including:
* Standardization of client and party names
* Merging and de-duplication of records
* Updating relationship and corporate hierarchy data
* Identify trends, inconsistencies, and data quality issues and recommend process improvements.
* Support firm-wide initiatives to enhance data governance, reporting accuracy, and system reliability.
* Assist with the implementation of data standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
* Respond to inquiries regarding business intake, conflicts, compliance, and risk management processes.
* Identify opportunities to improve workflows, technology utilization, and operational efficiency.
* Assist with departmental initiatives, technology enhancements, audits, and special projects.
* Develop and maintain expertise in business intake, compliance, and risk management best practices.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex information and identify potential risks.
* Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with data cleanup and management, business intake, conflicts analysis, compliance review, contracts administration, risk management, or professional responsibility functions.
* Knowledge of law firm operations, client onboarding procedures, and legal risk management principles.
* Experience working with Intapp, iManage, or similar legal technology platforms.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Familiarity with document management systems, records management tools, and legal research resources.

The salary range for this position varies by geographical market. In Minneapolis, the estimated starting annual pay range is $52,000-$63,000. The compensation offered will be dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, education, professional background, overall qualifications, and geographic market location.
