Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to provide high-quality mental health counseling from the comfort of your own home. Our team utilizes advanced electronic health record systems, including AVATAR, for seamless case documentation and management, enhancing our operational efficiency and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients, thoroughly documenting their mental health history from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Evaluate clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological well-being, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment.
  • Develop and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans that cater to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and group settings.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities based on the latest clinical practices and evidence-based strategies.
  • Monitor client progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
  • Provide follow-up support with medical professionals for clients who are hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care during transitions.
  • Identify behaviors that hinder recovery and work proactively to mitigate these challenges, including providing resources for family members and caregivers.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The mental health counselor will work with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, facing a range of issues from anxiety and depression to trauma and addiction disorders. Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.

  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, with a specific mention of familiarity with AVATAR.

  • A commitment to understanding and applying the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices within a counseling framework.
