North Oasis Behavioral Health Center seeks a dedicated Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team, providing exceptional care for clients struggling with various mental health challenges. This remote position relies on your expertise in conducting mental health evaluations, developing tailored treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy interventions.

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to provide high-quality mental health counseling from the comfort of your own home. Our team utilizes advanced electronic health record systems, including AVATAR, for seamless case documentation and management, enhancing our operational efficiency and client outcomes.

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients, thoroughly documenting their mental health history from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
• Evaluate clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological well-being, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment.
• Develop and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans that cater to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and group settings.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities based on the latest clinical practices and evidence-based strategies.
• Monitor client progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
• Provide follow-up support with medical professionals for clients who are hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care during transitions.
• Identify behaviors that hinder recovery and work proactively to mitigate these challenges, including providing resources for family members and caregivers.

The mental health counselor will work with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, facing a range of issues from anxiety and depression to trauma and addiction disorders. • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a recognized and accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong foundational experience in mental health counseling, evidenced by a robust clinical background.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, with a specific mention of familiarity with AVATAR.
• Knowledge of co-occurring physical and emotional health issues, including treatment methodologies for addiction disorders.
• A commitment to understanding and applying the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices within a counseling framework.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and compassionate interaction with clients and colleagues alike.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, fostering a trusting relationship with clients through empathy and support.

• Previous experience in a telehealth or remote counseling environment would be advantageous as you adapt to our supported virtual platform.
• Expertise in therapeutic techniques relevant to addiction and recovery would be beneficial, given our focus on comprehensive mental health care.
• Experiences with trauma-informed care protocols and holistic therapeutic practices.
