As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:

• Conducting thorough assessments of clients to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms.
• Creating personalized treatment plans that integrate client preferences, goals, and clinical best practices.
• Implementing evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to individual client needs.
• Providing psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
• Monitoring client progress through regular evaluations and adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated care for clients with complex needs.
• Staying informed about the latest research in mood disorders to enhance therapeutic approaches and treatment efficacy.
• Maintaining meticulous documentation to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participating actively in team meetings, case consultations, and continuing education opportunities for professional growth.
• Advocating for clients’ mental health needs and reducing stigma associated with mental illness through community outreach and education.

In this role, you will primarily work with clients experiencing various mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Your clinical expertise will support individuals across the lifespan, helping them navigate their challenges and fostering long-term coping skills. The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related mental health field.

• Demonstrated empathy, understanding, and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients and their experiences.

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
