Job description

Summary
This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, located within Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) on NSA Mid-South, at the Glen Eagle Golf Course. The purpose of this position is to coordinate menu selections, develop and deliver orientation briefings for each BUPERS selection board as well as developing and maintain working relationships with BUPERS Selection Board members (which includes senior enlisted and officers ranging from E-7 - O-6).

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primarily responsible for coordinating and carrying out a comprehensive marketing plan to introduce all MWR programs to the BUPERS selection boards.
  • Work effectively with all MWR Managers in order to market available programs to visiting BUPERS Selection board members.
  • Working effectively with all members of the F&B management team to coordinate the delivery, setup and pickup of catered selection board meals.
  • Plan and prepare meal service orders.
  • Overseeing the ordering, stocking and maintain of all service items to achieve maximum efficiency and ease of use for selection board staff;
  • Extracts information from several sources ensuring that all members receive programming information during they stay.
  • Assembles and prepares in final format meal service invoices.
  • Assists with correspondence in support of MWR programs available to visiting members.
  • Develop flyers, posters and handouts on all authorized recreation events to maximize participation.
  • Arrange tours and trips of the local area to the members of the selection boards.
  • Implementing and maintaining customer-service standards.
  • Identifying trends; determining system improvements and implementing change
  • Plan, organize and implement special dining events for BUPERS selection board members and VIPs.
  • Investigate customer problems and find solutions.
  • Prepares purchase orders and delivery orders for approval and signature by the Authorized Officer.
  • Receives and processes requests for purchases.
  • Checks to ensure requests meet procedural and regulatory requirements, including presence of purchase request.

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.

  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.

  • Position requires incumbent to walk or drive to various widespread facilities. May be required to work evenings and weekends to cover or coordinate events.

Qualifications

Specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Excellent communication skills in order to market the various MWR services available.
  • Knowledge and ability to use marketing principles, techniques and methods to maximize selection board maximum participation of MWR programs
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability and skill in using the tools of the trade, artistic flair, marketing layout and grammatical editing.
  • Knowledge of frequently used and clearly stated procedures and regulations to respond to recurring questions from vendors, agency or activity personnel, customers, and others.
  • Knowledge of what constitutes acceptable delays for individual items or services to monitor contractor performance and coordinate/recommend corrective action.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures for adequate training.
  • Knowledge of capabilities and uses of audiovisual aids and other training tools and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of training.
