Remote Recording Studio Internship information

What is a remote recording studio internship?

A Remote Recording Studio Internship is a position where interns gain experience working with audio production, mixing, and recording from a remote location rather than on-site in a physical studio. Interns typically assist with editing audio tracks, participating in virtual studio sessions, learning industry-standard software, and collaborating with engineers and producers online. This type of internship allows students or aspiring audio professionals to develop hands-on skills in music production, sound engineering, and studio management while working from home or another remote environment. It is ideal for those looking to build their resume and network in the music industry without geographical limitations.

What does a remote recording studio intern do?

As a Remote Recording Studio Intern, you'll often assist with editing audio tracks, organizing session files, and supporting virtual recording sessions under the guidance of experienced engineers or producers. You'll gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software, such as Pro Tools or Ableton, and learn best practices for remote collaboration and file management. Additionally, you'll have opportunities to observe the production process, participate in creative brainstorming, and receive mentorship, all of which can help you build a professional network and develop practical skills for a future career in audio production.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote recording studio intern?

To thrive as a Remote Recording Studio Intern, you generally need a foundational understanding of audio engineering, music production, and familiarity with recording techniques, often gained through coursework or hands-on experience. Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live, as well as knowledge of audio file management and remote collaboration platforms, is typically required. Strong communication, time management, and adaptability are essential soft skills for excelling while working remotely and supporting creative teams. These skills ensure effective collaboration, technical accuracy, and productivity in a fast-paced, remote studio environment.

The Remote Recording Studio Internship is an entry-level position designed for individuals gaining experience in audio recording, often requiring basic knowledge. Internships focus on learning and skill development, while audio engineers handle complex projects independently. Both roles are integral to the audio production industry but differ in experience level and responsibilities.

We are looking for more than what a resume can show. If you don't have the exact experience or skills, but think you'd be a great addition to MasterClass, please apply for the role.ย

Snapshot of the Role:

As a Program Manager, you'll play a critical role in bringing our learning experiences to life by driving cross-functional programs from concept through launch. You'll partner closely with Marketing, Content, and Product teams to ensure every project moves seamlessly from development to production to go-to-market execution.

This is a highly autonomous role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity, and can confidently manage multiple priorities across a dynamic content slate. You'll be trusted to proactively identify risks, align stakeholders, and keep complex initiatives on track while continuously improving how we work.

Beyond program execution, you'll help shape the future of our operations. We're looking for someone who naturally questions inefficient processes, embraces new ways of working, and is excited to leverage AI tools to streamline workflows, improve visibility, and help teams operate more effectively at scale.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead end-to-end program management across one or more product verticals, ensuring successful delivery from development through launch.
  • Drive integrated project plans across Content, Marketing, Product, Production, and Learning teams to keep workstreams aligned and on schedule.
  • Own and manage complex timelines spanning development, production, post-production, and go-to-market execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify risks, facilitate decisions, and maintain momentum across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Coordinate the delivery of course content, marketing assets, and supporting product experiences to ensure successful launches.
  • Support specialized workstreams including learning design, platform ingestion, and non-video content production.
  • Partner with Legal on talent agreements, licensing, intellectual property, NDAs, and release workflows, escalating issues proactively when needed.
  • Evaluate and improve cross-functional processes, communication, and operational workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools and automation to reduce manual work, improve visibility, and accelerate decision-making across teams.
  • Document and implement scalable processes, helping establish repeatable best practices as the organization continues to grow.
  • ย

About You (Requirements):

  • 3-5 years of experience in program management, project management, production operations, content operations, or marketing operations.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build alignment across Content, Marketing, Product, and other cross-functional partners while influencing without direct authority.
  • Strong operational mindset with a track record of identifying process improvements and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating AI tools into day-to-day workflows to improve efficiency, organization, and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and confidently engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Asana, Airtable, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with content production, digital marketing, or go-to-market workflows in a media, education, or technology environment is preferred.
  • This role is open to applicants based in the following locations: AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, TX, UT, WA or Ontario and British Columbia, Canada.
